Webelos

Webelos

Age: 4th Grade, 9-10 Yrs

Webelos is a 20 month program for 4th and 5th grade scouts to prepare to join a Boy Scout troop while learning outdoor skills and participating in 14 different adventures. A well-run group of Webelos is a gradual change from being an 'adult-run' den to being a 'boy-run' patrol ready to fit right into an adventurous Scouts BSA troop.

The Webelos program has two major milestones - the Webelos rank badge to be earned at the 4th grade level and the Arrow of Light to be earned at the 5th grade. The final part of Webelos is bridging over into a Scouts BSA troop selected individually by the Scout.

Webelos Rank Adventures

To earn the Bear badge of rank, you must complete six required Adventures and any two elective Adventures.

The Bobcat Adventure is designed to be the first required Adventure.  Requirements for Bobcat include getting to know members of the den and the “How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide” which are important activities to do with your den early on.

You may complete as many elective Adventures as you wish.

As he/she completes each adventure, the Scout is awarded a pin specific to the adventure completed.  After completing the eight adventures, the Scout is awarded the Webelos Patch.
