Training
Youth Protection Training (YPT) Online - Required of all registered Adult volunteers BEFORE joining BSA. Retrained every two year
Adult Leader Position-specific Training - Online training designed for specific leadership positions in a unit.
Den Leader Experience Video Series Videos with Den Leader Tips and Tricks
Rangemaster Training - Training for adult volunteers to be certified to operate shooting sports ranges (BB, Archery, slingshot) in accordance with BSA standards. Check Simon Kenton Council calendar for upcoming Rangemaster training sessions (often held in spring).
BALOO Training - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation - one-and-a-half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for adult leaders. Check Simon Kenton Council calendar for upcoming BALOO training sessions.
University of Scouting - Day long event that provides various training sessions to help improve adult leaders knowledge about many areas of the Boy Scouts of America. Hosted annually by Simon Kenton Council. Check Simon Kenton Council calendar for date and details. Typically held in the Fall/November timeframe.
Wood Badge - Advanced leadership course open to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Check Simon Kenton Council calendar for dates and details.
